DEFRA Public Sector Food Procurement Initiative

ECS (Education Contract Services) Bradford has become a national leader on local sourcing. GFN has been working to support ECS, in partnership with the NFU, the University of Bradford and the Government office for Yorkshire and the Humber. Information on two PSFPI pilot projects are accessible on this website, www.grassroots.uk.net/psfpi.

Milk 70,000 pints/year pasteurised, whole and semi-skimmed milk. Daily delivery in 1-pint and 4-pint cartons or poly. bottles.	(PDF, 52k)
Cheese 31,000kg/year vegetarian, rennet free, grated, and block cheese. Weekly delivery in 1kg and 2kg packs.	(PDF, 52k)
Yoghurt 40,000kg/year pasteurised yoghurt, plain and in various flavours. Weekly delivery in 113g or 125g pots and 2.25kg containers.	(PDF, 52k)
Eggs 13,636 dozen eggs per year. Weekly delivery in cardboard egg boxes.	(PDF, 56k)
Bread, cakes, and morning goods White, brown, granary and wholemeal bread, sliced loaves, baps, batons, baguettes, etc.. Cellophane wrapped, delivered 2 or 3 times weekly.	(PDF, 56k)
Halal meat and poultry Quantity negotiable. Diced and minced mutton, and diced chicken. Fresh or free flow frozen, in 1kg packs. Daily delivery to just 1 location.	(PDF, 56k)
